The Hong Kong Marriage Ordinance is mainly

concerned with the registration of marriages

and does not anywhere lay down what form of

marriage shall be recognised as valid.

Section 27 says that all marriages celebrated

under this Ordinance shall be good and valid

in law to all intents and purposes, but I

do not know whether we are entitled to assume

from that, that a marriage not celebrated

in accordance with the Ordinance, would be

invalid.

If the English law is neld to
